Sparkle Coupon

Hello!!  Sorry this week has been a bit sporadic... we are house and dog sitting for some friends and I haven't had my computer for much of the week!  So this may be the last until next week, but we will see!!  :)  I made this for a friend who does Mary Kay and wanted an idea for how to use stamps to make coupons for her customers... but it would be a cute gift for a little girl, friend, mom... etc.  Have a great week!!  ~Lauren:)

Inside to Paper Bag album

I was asked for the inside of the album I had posted a while ago (the mother-daughter one).  So here is the inside and the tags that go in the pockets of the bags!  It is so easy, if you want directions message me.  I have them on the computer:)  Have a great day!  Lauren

ps--jury dury was super fun... i was selected but then let go!  oh darn:)

Birthday Calendar

I made this for Stuart last Christmas.  He also got a Macbook for Christmas, so he now really doesn't need this since he has all the dates on iCal  :)  Oh well.  He still liked it!  I made the calendar part on the computer and used coasters for each page.  I used my crop-o-dile to punch the holes for the hanger and to hold it all together.  It was pretty easy actually!  I have the file if anyone wants it!  Just comment and I'll email it to you!

ps--I have jury duty starting tomorrow.  Hopefully it is only tomorrow, but I probably won't have time to post until that joyful event is over!!  Until then, have fun stamping!  Lauren:)

Americana Soldier

This was cased from the awesome swap I'm in as well.  I believe it was Lisa Somerville.  She's pretty awesome, don't you think?  It's a striking card, but very simple!  Enjoy!  Happy Monday, Lauren:)

Pretty in Purple (... and black!)

I was given a similar card in this wonderful swap that I do through my friend and upline Robin--it is the only swap I really do!!  However, it's accent color was red and I didn't have any red bling brads!  So I changed to a color I did have... purple.  I am usually NOT a purple fan.  Very hard for me to do purple, I just don't like it.  I like it even less than pink.  Just not my colors!!  But I use them more on cards than I wear them!!  But it turned out beautiful!!  I also had to change the background (she had used Pretty Petals, the matching background) because I couldn't find it to borrow!  I already had to borrow the set from a sweet friend who had just gotten it.  I told her I would cut it for her if I could use it!!  Thanks Debbie!!  ~Lauren:)

Stamps:  Pretty Amazing

Love you a Latte!

A very winter-y card... that time of year is creeping up on us!!  I know, I don't want it to come either, but I am trying to learn to embrace each season, even though the one we are in is my favorite--so easy to be joyful when the weather is beautiful outside!!  :)  Lauren

Happy Birthday, Mom!

So... I finally finished my mom's birthday present, only a week late!!  Sorry!!  The idea was there but took a while to come to fruition!!  :)  I really like how it turned out!  I usually don't write this much, because I don't like reading a lot of stuff on blogs.  So if you don't want to read the how, just scroll to the bottom for the supplies!!  :)

The inside was pretty easy, the pics are 3x3 each.  However... putting the brads in was a pain because I put them JUST far enough in that my hand-held hole punch would reach.  So I had to try the crop-o-dile (which mutilated the ribbon... why I switched from the brads on the left to the right!!) and then finally used the crafter's tool kit and the hole punch and hammer in there.  I still wouldn't pick doing it that way because it wrinkled the ribbon and I had to straighten it back out when I was done!!

The frame took the longest.  Probably because I'm me and I can't do anything creative the easy way:)  That's why I like to case things!!  I got it for $4 at AC Moore, which was great for an 8x10 frame I thought.  It was just a maple looking wood frame.  First I sanded it down, then I put on 4 coats of paint.  I used a hodge podge mix of acrylic paints that I had hiding in the basement:)  The first coat was a Ruby Red color, then a Close to Cocoa like color, then a Groovy Guava-ish shade, and finally a Very Vanilla on top!  After all that I sanded down the frame to "shabby chic" it.  I dyed the pretties flowers using a River Rock and Groovy Guava reinker in an old stamp container.  I let them dry overnight, but still had to wipe off extra ink.  I think there is a better way to do it out there, but I couldn't find it and got sick of looking!!  I used a bunch of glue dots to get the flowers to stay.

Ink:  Ruby Red (edges of scripture), Groovy Guava and River Rock reinker (for flowers)

Accessories:  Cutter Kit, River Rock and Groovy Guava double stitched ribbon, Very Vanilla 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Pretties, Crafter's Tool Kit, Earth Elements brads, glue dots, frame from AC Moore 8x10, sand paper, acrylic paint

A Birthday Well Spent

This was a super quick and fun card that I used a lot last year in my business as well as for personal use.  I actually came up with it while making a card for my little cousin's birthday.  I just made it match the paper I was using to wrap her gift!!  How funny is it that THIS card ended up on the display boards at convention says my wonderful upline Robin!!  She says she took a picture of it up there for me:)  Just goes to show how something simple is all you need!!

Stamps:  Time Well Spent (hostess), Birthday Hugs and Wishes
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Whisper White, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence cardstock
Accessories:  Glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Bold Brights markers

Block Gifts

These were last year's Christmas presents!  I took wood blocks (my friend so nicely cut them for me!)  Spray painted a primer on them, and painted them.  Then I took my big square punch and punched out patterned paper for each side of each block.  Then I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to each side of the blocks.  Finally, I used my alphabet stamps and stamped out messages and used my smaller square punch to punch those out and adhered them with Mod Podge as well!  I used matte finish Mod Podge, and I would also sand the bottom of each block when you are done so they don't stick:)  Very cost efficient presents, I would recommend doing it!

Stamps:  Big Deal Alphabet, Best Friends lower Alphabet, Short Order Alphabet
Ink:  lots!
Paper:  designer series paper and Whisper White cardstock
Accessories:  wood blocks, acrylic paint, Mod Podge matte, square punches, sandpaper

Mother/Daughter paper bag scrapbook

This was a scrapbook I made for some customers who wanted to do a mother/daughter class.  I think it turned out pretty cute... everything in it is old, except for the ideas!!  The flower on the front comes from a stamp set that is actually just now retiring, one of my favorite sets!!  Email me if you want to see the inside!  Enjoy your day with family!!  :) Lauren

Stamps:  Be Happy, Spot on Wheel
Ink:  Only Orange, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise
Paper:  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Only Orange
Accessories:  Tag punch, Circle punch, orange, green, yellow grosgrain ribbon

Coaster Frame

This was a project from a stamp camp earlier this year.  Super fun and easy!  The base is 2 coasters.  I cut the Cutie Pie paper (retiring!!) and rounded the corners to make it the same size as the coasters, then used a glue stick to cover and attach the paper.  Use a bone folder to smooth the paper onto the coaster.  I used the Cropodile to punch the holes (both coasters at once) and then decorated!!  Fun:)  Have a great weekend... Lauren!

Back to School is coming!!

I found the start to this cute back to school idea on splitcoast, but I can never leave things totally alone:)  I really like how it came out.  And by the way.... my husband thought the "welcome" on the card was strange, but I thought it was kind of like "welcome back"... I don't know.  You can change the sentament when you make it on Saturday at stamp camp....

When you get your new CATALOG!!!  I have them!!!  Just delivered by my hubby from the UPS truck:)  Yay... I wanted to post first so I got it done, otherwise it wouldn't happen!!  Can't wait to see you Saturday so you can see YOUR catty!!!

I'll have a Blue Christmas...

... without this stamp set!!  haha Sorry, that was bad.  Snowfall is one of the sets retiring, and it is such a great set!!  When I made this card, the Blue Bayou DSP was still around, but now it is gone.  There are other prints colors available though:)  If you are coming to my stamp camp on Saturday, this is one of the cards you will be making!  I cased part of this card from one I found on Splitcoast by Aly Schilling.  The snowflake looks like that by using a technique called rock and roll.  You will learn Saturday... email me by Wed to rsvp, hostesses come free!!  Enjoy!
